Regulations for The Society of Korean Practical Arts Education Research Chapter 1. General Provisions Article 1. (Name of Society) This society will be referred to as “한국실과교육연구학회”.In English its name will be "The Society of Korean Practical Arts Education Research (SKPAER)". Article 2. (Location) The society’s headquarters are located at the current President’s workplace, and there can be branch offices. Article 3. (Aims) This society’s aim is that, through promotion of research related to Practical Arts education and by smooth exchange of academic information between members, developmental transitions in Korean education can take place. Article 4. (Business) The following acts of business will be promoted in order to achieve the aims given in Article 3. Regular academic conferences related to transitions in Practical Arts Education and Korean Education are held Periodic journals, research results, and books are published Make international academic exchanges through holding and participating in international conferences. Carry out other business that is deemed to accomplish the aims of the society. Chapter 2. Membership Article 5. (Membership Classifications) The types of membership of this society include lifelong membership, regular membership, honorary membership, and group membership. Article 6. (Membership Qualifications) Members of this society will have interest in education and will agree with the society's objectives and work. Such candidates would be as follow: Educators or administrators who presently are in service at such educational establishments as Kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools, or high schools Workers in a professional or administrative role in the field of education Researchers working in an educational research institute setting Students who are studying at a regular university or graduate school A member of the board of directors in another society who has been give special permission to qualify. Article 7. (Rights and Obligations of Members) One may qualify for lifelong membership by paying the lifelong fee determined by the society (￦300,000). The Lifelong membership fee may be paid in installments. One may qualify for regular membership/group membership by paying the annual fee determined by the society (￦30,000/￦100,000). One does not qualify for honorary membership through payment of any type of membership fee. Another method is used for one to qualify in which it is determined through a resolution by the board of directors that someone has made great contributions to the society. It is the duty of regular members and group members to pay the membership fees prescribed by the society. If a member does not pay membership fees for 3 years, membership will be revoked. A member must abide by the rules and resolutions set out by the society. A member must attend an academic conference or general meeting at least once a year. If it is inevitably difficult to attend, a member may follow the proper procedures to delegate his voting rights. Members will adhere to the rules of the society, pay the required membership fees, participate in the business/programs given in article 4, and according to article 9, have the right to vote or hold office. Vice-presidents include teachers from kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, high school, and university settings, and professors from the related university. Advisors include former presidents and other people who could be helpful in the development of the society. Article 10. (Editor-in-Chief) The editor-in-chief oversees periodic journals, papers for conferences and other publishing work, and prepares the assessment by the certified examining authority. (Director of Foreign Cooperation) Establish a plan for the society to promote competition and build cooperative network of relevant organizations. (Director of Rules and Ethics) Management of the society's overall regulations and supervision of the application and management of the society's research code of ethics. (Director of Policy Development) Develop the society’s policy and notify, investigate, and apply the newly developed policy. (Director of Special Projects) Selection of special projects for the society, and enable social activities and exchange between members. (Director of International Cooperation) Hold international seminars and academic conferences and enable international exchange for the society. (Director of Research Compilation) Responsible for supervising the compilation of research results and the consignment of research services for the society. (Director of Public Relations) Maintains the Society’s homepage and compiles promotional materials for external use. (Director of Academic Conferences) Build the foundation for academic activities by making preparations for holding academic conferences and petitioning for financial support to hold academic conferences. (Auditor) The auditor examines the implementation of the budget and report to the general assembly. (Advisors) The advisors review and support various matters and activities of the society. Article 13. (Appointment and Term of Office for Executive Officers) The president and the auditor are elected by the general assembly, and can be in office for a term of up to two years. Following recommendations for the offices of vice-president, director of general affairs, director of international cooperation, director of ethical rules, chairperson of policy development, director of special projects, director of public relations, director of research compilation, director of academic conferences, editor-in-chief, approval is sought by the executive board and they are appointed to office. They are appointed to a 2-year term of office and are not restricted from being reappointed. (Delete) In the case of the editorial committee, they are appointed following recommendations by the editor-in-chief, and approval from the executive board. Article 14. (Qualifications and Duties of Advisors) (Qualifications) To qualify as an advisor one must be in agreement with the purpose of the society and be a supporter, pass through deliberations by the executive board and then be passed by the general assembly. In the case that a former president has intentions to be advisor he/she can be appointed as one. (Duties) Attend meetings of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors and advise them. (Rights) Advisors have the right to life-long membership. Chapter 5. Branches and Affiliated Societies Article 15. (Formation of branches and affiliated societies) The society can place branches in local government and overseas, and according to circumstances, the operations of a number of branches can be integrated. Branches are grouped together as follows : Gangwon(01), Gyeong-gi Incheon(02), Gyeongnam Busan(03), Gyeongbuk Daegu(04), Seoul(05), Jeonnam Gwangju(06), Jeonbuk(07), Jeju(08), Choongnam Dajeon(09), Choongbuk(10). According to the society's needs affiliated societies(For example; creativity education, character education, etc.) may have combined operations. Article 16. (Activities of Branches and Affiliated Societies There are the officers of branch manager, assistant branch manager, assistant administrator, etc. for our society's branch officese, and the organization and activities of the branch should be implemented independently. With the society's branch manager at the center and having close relations with the society members, educational activities that are in agreement with the nature and purpose of the society are developed. Chapter 6. Finances Article 17. (Finances) The society is financed through funding from the natioanl research foundation of Korea, membership fees, donations by officers, research funding, and other revenues. Article 18. (Fiscal Year) Our society's fiscal year runs from March 1st to the last day of February in the next year. Article 19. (Membership fees) In concordance with clauses 1-3 of article 7, membership fees shall be determined by the general assembly. Article 20. (Business Plans and Balancing of Accounts) The President draws up the society's annual business plan and budget every year 1 month prior to the end of the fiscal year and it is voted on by the board of directors and must be approved by all members of the board. Regulations for The Society of Korean Practical Arts Education Research Chapter 1. General Provisions Article 1. (Name of Society) This society will be referred to as “한국실과교육연구학회”.In English its name will be "The Society of Korean Practical Arts Education Research (SKPAER)". Article 2. (Location) The society’s headquarters are located at the current President’s workplace, and there can be branch offices. Article 3. (Aims) This society’s aim is that, through promotion of research related to Practical Arts education and by smooth exchange of academic information between members, developmental transitions in Korean education can take place. Article 4. (Business) The following acts of business will be promoted in order to achieve the aims given in Article 3. Regular academic conferences related to transitions in Practical Arts Education and Korean Education are held Periodic journals, research results, and books are published Make international academic exchanges through holding and participating in international conferences. Carry out other business that is deemed to accomplish the aims of the society. Chapter 2. Membership Article 5. (Membership Classifications) The types of membership of this society include lifelong membership, regular membership, honorary membership, and group membership. Article 6. (Membership Qualifications) Members of this society will have interest in education and will agree with the society's objectives and work. Such candidates would be as follow: Educators or administrators who presently are in service at such educational establishments as Kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools, or high schools Workers in a professional or administrative role in the field of education Researchers working in an educational research institute setting Students who are studying at a regular university or graduate school A member of the board of directors in another society who has been give special permission to qualify. Article 7. (Rights and Obligations of Members) One may qualify for lifelong membership by paying the lifelong fee determined by the society (￦300,000). The Lifelong membership fee may be paid in installments. One may qualify for regular membership/group membership by paying the annual fee determined by the society (￦30,000/￦100,000). One does not qualify for honorary membership through payment of any type of membership fee. Another method is used for one to qualify in which it is determined through a resolution by the board of directors that someone has made great contributions to the society. It is the duty of regular members and group members to pay the membership fees prescribed by the society. If a member does not pay membership fees for 3 years, membership will be revoked. A member must abide by the rules and resolutions set out by the society. A member must attend an academic conference or general meeting at least once a year. If it is inevitably difficult to attend, a member may follow the proper procedures to delegate his voting rights. Members will adhere to the rules of the society, pay the required membership fees, participate in the business/programs given in article 4, and according to article 9, have the right to vote or hold office. Article 8. (Eligibility for Membership Revoked) Members in the following cases will lose eligibility for membership. Resignation according to a member's own wishes A resolution for expulsion made by the board of directors Having not paid membership fees for 3 years Chapter 3. Meetings Article 9. (General Assemblies) General assemblies are composed of all members except for honorary members and group members. General Assemblies will be held every two years and at the time of the regular annual conference. (Composition of Executive Officers) Officers of the Society are composed of about 3 advisors, 1 president, about 5 internal/external vice-presidents, 2 auditors, 1 director of general affairs, 1 director of international cooperation, 1 director of foreign cooperation, 1 chairperson of ethical rules, 1 chairperson on policy development, 1 chairperson of special projects, 1 public relations chairperson, 1 research compilation chairperson, 1 chairperson of conferences, 1 Chief Editor, and the editorial board consisting of a few members. Vice-presidents include teachers from kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, high school, and university settings, and professors from the related university. Advisors include former presidents and other people who could be helpful in the development of the society. Article 10. Especially this director is responsible for management of memberships and finance. (Editor-in-Chief) The editor-in-chief oversees periodic journals, papers for conferences and other publishing work, and prepares the assessment by the certified examining authority. (Director of Foreign Cooperation) Establish a plan for the society to promote competition and build cooperative network of relevant organizations. (Director of Rules and Ethics) Management of the society's overall regulations and supervision of the application and management of the society's research code of ethics. (Director of Policy Development) Develop the society’s policy and notify, investigate, and apply the newly developed policy. (Director of Special Projects) Selection of special projects for the society, and enable social activities and exchange between members. (Director of International Cooperation) Hold international seminars and academic conferences and enable international exchange for the society. (Director of Research Compilation) Responsible for supervising the compilation of research results and the consignment of research services for the society. (Director of Public Relations) Maintains the Society’s homepage and compiles promotional materials for external use. (Director of Academic Conferences) Build the foundation for academic activities by making preparations for holding academic conferences and petitioning for financial support to hold academic conferences. (Auditor) The auditor examines the implementation of the budget and report to the general assembly. (Advisors) The advisors review and support various matters and activities of the society. Article 13. (Appointment and Term of Office for Executive Officers) The president and the auditor are elected by the general assembly, and can be in office for a term of up to two years. Following recommendations for the offices of vice-president, director of general affairs, director of international cooperation, director of ethical rules, chairperson of policy development, director of special projects, director of public relations, director of research compilation, director of academic conferences, editor-in-chief, approval is sought by the executive board and they are appointed to office. They are appointed to a 2-year term of office and are not restricted from being reappointed.
